This is the key to sound economic development. When business dollars stay in our community, more capital  is available for business expansion and the creation of jobs—good, durable jobs, not cookie-cutter jobs hanging at the whim of far-away corporate managers. County government can:

• Buy from local vendors and contractors whenever possible
• Keep its funds in local banks and credit unions
• Join emerging efforts to create prudent investment funds to capitalize local businesses
• Push economic development strategy towards local business expansion and incubation
• Support responsible, creative forestry projects around Southern Oregon
